About a week ago - Meghan & Madison were getting ready to start their wedding weekend! And it was such a joy to create this beautiful personality packed watercolor crest for them that they infused throughout their wedding!
.
They included the sweetest details that represented each of their hometowns (like the two bridges from where they grew up), their relationship & their interests. The bourbon, the golden rods and the horse & jockey all represent Lexington, Kentucky where they met.
.
We also included a bible, cross, and music notes since Meghan sings and leads worship at their church. The adorable pumpkin is significant since they met on Halloween, and the light post is the same one where Madison proposed!
.
The stethoscope symbolizes Meghan’s career, and the baseball & road trip map represent their favorite hobbies. Of course - we had to include their ADORABLE pup, Oakley. And we topped it all off with their beautiful wedding venue, The Historic Ashley Inn.
.
M&M, I hope this first week of marriage has been so full of love and adventure! I am so excited to see all of your joyful wedding photos soon (swipe to see a few favorites of how they included their crest on their special day!)

Flying out to South Carolina this morning - this time to Greenville to spend a couple days with the most incredible, inspiring group of artists I’ve come to know and love over the past year through @emily_jeffords’ mastermind!
.
This is a trip I’ve been looking forward to for months. We’ve all cheered each other on, helped each other brainstorm collections and big business pivots, and had real life chats all via video calls. It’s going to be SO nice to see & squeeze these ladies in person in just a few short hours!
.
Do you have a community of friends online? I highly encourage meeting up in person! Plan a weekend trip somewhere fun together 🤗 Squeeze in time for business chats if you’d like - but the best thing I’ve ever had come out of trips like this are the late night chats about everything & everything - it’s when you really bond.
.

I’ve re-read those words countless times over the past year. Do they strike a cord with you, too? It’s SO true that the biggest thing that holds us back (myself included) is taking that first step.
.
For me - I knew for years I really wanted to make my art print shop a bigger part of my business, so I could provide pieces that would infuse your homes with joy & remind you of the people & places you adore.
.
But that mental block was always there: it seemed hard to create a full print collection, rather than just releasing individual art prints here and there like I had always done. And creating that first collection of watercolor floral prints did take a lot of hard work & time!
.
But guess what...I made it happen. And knowing *what* went into putting together a collection made the thought of continuing to release new art print collections SO much more comfortable! It was the fear of the unknown that held me back, and now I’m so glad I took that leap because my print shop is one of my favorite aspects of SJM!
.
