Last night's wedding was extremely special for the Rebecca Rose Events team, as the bride was the older sister of a past RRE intern, Hope! It was also quite cool for me because one of Hope's best friends is one of my Sigma Kappa sisters who just graduated from Elon, so I got to see one of my friends at the wedding. Aside from the sentiment of the friendly faces, Elise and Mark's wedding was breathtakingly stunning. They had a fun photo booth, a live band, tasty food stations, and many guests who hailed from England to celebrate with Mark.
My absolute two favorite aspects of the evening were how beautiful Elise looked in her gown, and the most amazing cake I have seen in my entire life that was designed to match her equally stunning gown. I know that I just used a lot of different adjectives to describe this wedding as beautiful, but I just can't help myself. I think you'll see why after looking at these pictures.
The reception took place at the Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, North Carolina. Once guests arrived, they were welcomed by a table that displayed pictures from both Elise's bridal session and the newlywed's engagement photo shoot.
Guests were then directed into the reception hall to begin dinner. The menu was so much fun, including food ranging from a mac n' cheese station to french fries and sweet potato fries served in cones.
The color scheme for the wedding was grey, silver, and ice blue. These blue damask linens were fantastic, and the white floral centerpieces added a soft touch to the room. I'm personally always a fan of incorporating baby's breath into the floral design.
After everyone was through with dinner, Elise and Mark were introduced as Mr. and Mrs. Houston and shared their first dance to "This Will Be an Everlasting Love" by Natalie Cole. It was such a truly happy song to choose and really seemed to reflect their personalities. Once the song was finished, they shared their Father/Daughter and Mother/Son dance to the same song, at the same time. To me, that really signified the two families becoming one.
Then, they cut this cake. Oh my goodness gracious. My jaw literally dropped when Kathy from Kathy Allen Fine Cakes came to deliver it while we were setting up. It perfectly matched Elise's dress, and the detail is so ornate and fantastic. I, like Elise, am a huge lover of all things sparkly. Needless to say this is what I will be referring back to when I plan my own wedding one day.
One of the biggest hits of the night was this photo booth from flickerBooth. Everyone loved pairing up and making silly faces together to place in a book for Elise and Mark to keep for years to come.
Then came time for the bouquet toss...
And the garter toss! Hope was the lucky girl to catch the bouquet, so hopefully the RRE team will be planning another wedding for a Davis girl sometime in the near future!
Elise and Mark incorporated items from America and England throughout their entire wedding, especially in their favors. They made koozies for their friends and family that had "Cheers!" written on them with both the American and British flags, which were a big hit.
And they also had mini American and British flags for everyone to wave during their grande exit!
All of the guests lined the doorway, flags in hand, to wave goodbye to the new Mr. & Mrs. Houston, and the two left with a sweet kiss goodbye! It was such a lovely evening, and Elise and Mark seemed to have the night of their lives. Congrats you two!
