3 Classic Cocktail Recipes to Make for Holiday Parties

It's officially November, which means that the season of holiday parties is upon us! Are you hosting a holiday cocktail party at your home, in charge of the drinks committee for your office holiday party, or looking to bring something fun to your annual Friendsgiving?

serves 1

INGREDIENTS

  • 1.5 ounces of Vodka
  • 1 tablespoon of fresh lime juice
  • 2/3 cup of chilled ginger beer
  • 2 large teaspoons of superfine sugar
  • ice
  • a lime wedge for garnish

DIRECTIONS

  1. Fill a copper mug three-fourths full with ice cubes.
  2. Add vodka, lime juice, and ginger beer and gently stir.
  3. Garnish with your lime wedge - and enjoy!

serves 1

INGREDIENTS

  • 1.5 teaspoons (0.25 ounce) club soda
  • 1 sugar cube or 0.5 teaspoon raw sugar
  • A dash of Angostura Bitters
  • 5 tablespoons (2.5 ounces) whiskey
  • 1 cup ice
  • 1 (0.5-inch-thick) strip of an orange peel
  • 1 (0.5-inch-thick) strip of a lemon peel

DIRECTIONS

  1. Pour the club soda over your sugar cube into a chilled cocktail shaker or pint glass.
  2. Using a muddler (or the back of a large spoon), gently crush sugar cube.
  3. Stir until sugar dissolves, about 20 to 30 seconds.
  4. Add bitters, whiskey, and ice, and stir until well chilled, about 20 seconds.
  5. Strain into a chilled double old-fashioned glass.
  6. Squeeze orange and lemon peels over glass, making sure oils fall into glass
  7. Either add a peel to your drink, or discard the peels, and enjoy!

serves 4

INGREDIENTS

  • 6 tablespoons of honey
  • 8 ounces bourbon, rye whiskey, or dark rum (rum would be my choice!)
  • 24 ounces boiling water
  • 4 lemon slices

DIRECTIONS

  1. Pour 1.5 tablespoons of honey in each of the 4 warmed cups.
  2. Add your choice of bourbon, rye, or rum (2 ounces per cup) and then add your water (6 ounces per cup).
  3. Stir until honey is completely dissolved.
  4. Garnish each cup with a lemon slice, serve, and enjoy!
