Bonefish Grill has been a restaurant chain for quite some time now. And, I've loved fish for quite a while (minus the few years in middle school and early high school where I found the smell of it to be utterly repulsive). But, I had never eaten at a Bonefish Grill until tonight. Kinda weird. Mom had a $25 gift card to the restaurant, and my days at home are quickly dwindling away (I leave for Elon in TWO days! That's seriously unreal). So, naturally we figured we had to treat ourselves tonight, especially since we were going to be the only two home for dinner.
The service at Bonefish was great. We were seated right away and all of the employees were super nice. Of course, it was the food that won me over though. Any restaurant that brings fresh, warm bread with an olive oil and herb dipping sauce will immediately win over my heart. I could eat just that for the meal. I figured I probably needed some further nutritional value though, so mom and I ordered their tomato salad as an appetizer to accompany the bread.
The tomatoes were topped with fresh basil, feta, and a honey balsamic dressing. Yet another flavor combo I could eat all day long.
One of their dinner specials was a lobster roll, which is another type of food I had not tried until tonight. I was really excited about ordering this for my meal, and it did not disappoint. It was a liiitle bit salty for my taste, but aside from that it was downright delicious. And it came with a side of home made chips with ranch and ketchup for dipping.
It's probably a good thing that there is not a Bonefish Grill near Elon, or I'd be visiting too frequently for my wallet to handle. However, I know that I've pinned a recipe for lobster rolls at one point in time, so I'll have to try recreating these at home one day. Home made is always better anyway in my opinion!
