Happy Birthday, Big!
First of all, I'd like to say happy Flag Day! Secondly, and more importantly, I'd like to wish a very special birthday to one of my best friends Kelly! Kelly is my big in Sigma Kappa and I just love her to pieces.
We became close essentially as soon as I became a sister freshman year. I still remember the first thing she said to me on bid day- "You're Jacob's girlfriend, right?" I felt soo cool that she knew who I was. Ironic that our connection was based heavily on your love of Sig Ep? Course not sweetheart :)
Kelly is one of the main reasons why I love Sigma Kappa and Elon so much. We just had that indescribable "click" that you only get with a few people in your life. Here's just a few things that we have in common: We both love-
- Peanut butter
- Nutella (on anything)
- Italy and anything Italian-related (the country, the food, the art, the cute boys)
- The Bachelorette
- Frozen Yogurt (even though she's lactose intolerant)
- Grocery shopping, at Lowes Foods
- Dressing up for parties
- Wine (when it was legal for me in Italy when we studied abroad there together)
- Cooking home-made meals
- Pretty Little Liars
- Lying out, even though she always gets five shades darker than I do
- Mellow Mushroom
- Going to the gym together
- Shopping together- she's the only person I know who has more shoes than I do
So what if 80% of those things revolve around food...? We like to eat. See, here's a picture of the two of us on her birthday two summers ago, with Taco Bell of course:
We've made so many memories with each other over the past 2 1/2 years and I know we'll make many more in years to come. Even if they do have to be via texting and skyping since she's going to veterinary school up north instead of staying down south with me. I'll get over that someday I swear.
As the old saying goes, a picture is worth a thousand words. So here are thousands upon thousands of words to describe my relationship with my big. I'll start from the beginning.
