Part two of my 21st birthday week was just as fantastic as the first part. I celebrated turning 21 at midnight on Thursday, celebrated yet again with my friends and some of my best Elon alumni/alumnae friends on Friday for my real birthday, and got to celebrate Elon's Homecoming on Saturday! Homecoming plus my birthday weekend was the best birthday gift I could have asked for. Thursday night my friend Legin (Caroline) had a party for me at her apartment which was just great. She surprised me with a gift from my mom- a Michael Kors quilted camel leather bag that I have been oogling over all month. I was beyond shocked and so insanely happy!
This is Legin :)
And this is one of my other best friends and roommate from last year, Abby! She was our Sigma Kappa nominee for Homecoming Queen, by the way. So, I'm therefore best friends with royalty.
On my real birthday, I went to dinner at Red Bowl with my greek family and another one of my best friends, Sam's, greek family. I got to order my first legal drink at a restaurant! This drink was quite ridiculous. It was called a volcano, since part of it is on fire! This is definitely a drink to share with friends, but it was a really fun first real drink!
After dinner, all of my friends came over to my apartment for my birthday party.
These are my lovely roommates, Marie, Katie, and Caroline, who threw the party for me.
My roommates decorated our chalkboard wall for me, and Abby brought me a sash, ribbon, and poster of 21 things to check off that night. Buuut I only really did about 5 of them.
Caroline made me the cutest funfetti cake with pink sprinkles and cute 21st birthday candles! Funfetti is my favorite, she knows me so well.
And then everyone sang happy birthday to me while I made my birthday wish! Oh, and see that box next to my cake? That was surprise number 2 from my mom delivered by Legin. She got me my other favorite cake- a red velvet cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory! Yumm.
Finally, on Saturday we all went to the tailgate for Elon's Homecoming football game. And we all sported purple ribbons for Sigma Kappa and Alzheimer's disease research. I still can't believe how amazing this weekend was and how great my friends are!
