Y’all, I am a huge flower person – fresh blooms simply make my heart happy! While I hadn’t planned all of the intricate details of our wedding before Zack proposed, I did know the types of flowers I wanted to include!
There have been a few factors that played into our floral decision making that I have found really helpful, and I hope these ideas help you, too!
The main factors we considered when selecting our wedding flowers were our budget, our design aesthetic, our floral color palette and our venue. While some of those factors seem more fun than others (I could talk about color all day!!), all four of those are important to consider together.
Since our wedding venue, Gettysvue Golf and Country Club, is a gorgeous outdoor venue but does not have a lot of flowers planted outside, we knew we wanted to bring the garden look we love to Gettysvue. However, it was key to know the budget we had to work with prior to diving in.
Our wedding planning team, Rebecca Rose Events, is also designing our wedding florals. They were able to help us navigate which flowers would be best to provide us with the fun floral look we love, while maintaining our set budget. For us, that means mixing higher priced florals like peonies with more affordable blooms and plentiful greenery - give me all of the silver dollar eucalyptus, please and thank you!
Knowing our venue's floral needs and our budget allowed us to then focus on the fun stuff - our floral design and colors! Visit the Southern Weddings Blog to read the full blog post about our design choices and what we are excited to include in our wedding florals. I cannot wait to see how these come to life on our wedding day!!
Friends, I’d love to know: What factors influenced your wedding floral style? How did your floral designer help guide you toward which flowers would be best for your wedding?
