Can I be completely transparent for a minute? Being a creative entrepreneur is a hard job to have, and a very busy life to lead. It does have a lot of perks: working from home, setting your own prices, following your passions. But, it also comes with a lot of overwhelm, stress, and a general sense of "how on earth do I do this?" self doubt.
How do I choose my prices- what am I worth and how do I explain that to others? I have SO many passions, which will actually allow me to run a successful business while still doing what I love? What company is best for manufacturing my products- there are SO many options! Should I start with Etsy or have a self-hosted shop? How many customers or clients do I need to have each month to stay afloat? Is it normal to have really good income months followed by low income months- how do I balance this?
what can I do to solve my overwhelm?
Have you ever asked yourself one or more of the questions above? I know I sure did when I first started my business, and still have questions similar to these come up on a regular basis. Where on earth do I find the answers to these questions, and how can you begin to navigate through being a small business owner yourself? My advice is to always invest in learning opportunities, because engaging with other speakers and attendees who have been in your same shoes and have the answers to your questions is always a better route than spending hours upon hours searching Google for answers to no avail.
So you're probably thinking: okay Jessica, that sounds great! But how in the world do I choose the best learning opportunity for me at this specific point in my business? There are so many creative workshops available right now, which is a blessing and a curse. The movement of community over competition is growing like wildfire, and I love that! But, an endless list of options to choose from can lead you right back to that feeling of overwhelm.
I'm a huge supporter of a variety of creative workshops that I've either spoken at or attended (you can read more about some of my favorites here). But, there's one that I want to focus on today because it is taking things to a whole new level that I am over the moon excited about! Make sure to read all the way to the bottom of this post for a super special offer you won't want to miss, darling!
Creative's Academy is a 7 week, online, business course brought to you by Stationery Academy. Many of you might remember that I attended Stationery Academy earlier this year, and it has been the best investment I've made for my business. Jennifer and the speakers truly mean business, and provide you with real, actionable steps to get your business where you want it to be: successful.
Creative's Academy uses the same exact material from Stationery Academy, so I can personally guarantee that you will see real results from taking this course. They've identified 6 crucial parts of a successful creative business: Core, Client, Money, Brand, Call, and Plan. Each week, you'll receive video lessons and complete worksheets as you go along, so that you are making progress throughout the entire course.
What's best? You get to do this on your own time, at the comfort of your own home! No need to worry about trying to accommodate a workshop in the middle of the work week. No need to pay for gas or flights, a hotel room, and meals. BUT, you still get the amazing community of creative cheerleaders (one of my favorite parts of CA), just in an online group format!
