If You Find Something You Love to Do, You'll Never Work a Day in Your Life

I am a firm believer in the saying, "if you find something you love to do, you'll never work a day in your life" by Keith Fletcher. I remember one of my professors one day sharing with my class that although it is great to do something that you like, he didn't think that you should necessarily do something that you love for your job because you could get tired of it easily, or something along those lines. I also remember my jaw immediately dropping to the floor and my hand raising to protest when he asked our opinion on the topic. If-You-Find-Something-You-Love

I have always been driven by my passions, and have had the mindset that God has given everyone he has created a special talent, and that it is a waste of our talent to not use it to serve the world and others around us as often as we can. It brings me great joy to know that I get to do what I love each day. I am not only using my God-given talents, but I am also increasing my happiness while doing so, which I hope in turn increases the happiness of everyone I come in contact with.

First Day at AH

I feel so immensely blessed to have discovered my passions of designing, celebrating love through marriage and events, painting, and inspiring others at such an early age. To be working with Amber Housley (that's a picture Amber took of me at my first day in the office- her dog Rocco is one of my new favorite pups) who shares such a similar vision for working as I do, and to soon be opening my own Etsy shop where I will pour my heart and soul into each painting I create and inspirational art print I send to my customers humbles me.

I truly, deeply hope that y'all have found something that you love to do, and have found a way to bring that into your work. If you haven't, I encourage you to take some time to yourself to honestly reflect on what makes you happy- what fires you up. Why are you not making that your line of work? What is holding you back? Why are you letting that hold you back? Imagine all of the great things that will happen if you break away from those fears and start doing what you love. I've gotta tell ya, it feels pretty darn amazing.

If you need some extra encouragement, I cannot overemphasize how helpful the Making Things Happen Intensive, my Lara Casey PowerSheet Set, and Richie Norton's bookΒ The Power of Starting Something Stupid have been in my process of self discovery and decision making in my life. I highly recommend that you look into these tools, but be prepared, because they will undoubtedly change your life for the better.
